Roo's Hopper is an excellent grasshopper imitation for hopper season. Oh yeah the hopper dropper. Made with waterproof super fine dry-fly dubbing, rubber legs, dear hair. Roo's Hopper is Hard to sink. The hopper dropper technique is just like the dry dropper but with a grasshopper imitation like Roo's Hopper. My favorite hopper dropper setup is Roo's Hopper size 14 or size 12, with a size 16 Hoot's River Juan as the dropper. Works excellent by itself. 5X to 7X tapered leader and tippet are excellent choices depending on conditions and size of fly.
