The Pheasant Tail Hare's Ear Nymph is a variation of the original Hare's Ear Nymph created by David Hemming 1832 in Redditch England. The Pheasant Tail Hare's Ear Nymph imitating basically any aquatic nymph also sow bugs, scuds and mayfly nymph. It works best when there is a hatch going on but also does great anytime. And a must-have in the fly box. My favorite way to use this is double dropper setup as the 2nd dropper under a strike indicator. You can also use it by itself or under a dry as a dry dropper simulating a hatch. 6x to 5X are excellent tapered leader and tippet choices sometimes you might have to go 4X.
