Brooks Sprout Emerger was created by Bob Brooks while being a riverkeeper near Mammoth California. With this emerger pattern starting the "Sprout" series of emerger flies. The foam aids in flotation as seen in the fly. This pattern can imitate any mayfly hatching and midges. Landing Trout, Pan Fish and the occasional Carp. The Brooks Sprout Emerger can be fished by itself but my favorite way is to use it with another dry fly. 5X to 7x tippet and tapered leader are the best choices for this fly.
